BUDWEISER PRESENTS MADE IN AMERICA

Last year, Jay Z produced a successful event through Budweiser called “Made in America” in Downtown LA. I missed it, I was pissed and I vowed that I wouldn’t miss another festival again.

Bloggers remorse

This year came around so fast that I completely forgot that during the Labor Day weekend, another round would be in the midst of the summer events, but I hadn’t heard of anything going on until I received a magical text from my best friend Efrem.

A 4D private viewing event. Okay, sounds like fun, but 4D. Nooooo. Apparently, Made in America was no longer having their events in the original home of Los Angeles and moved to Philadelphia for the time being. Well that’s crap! I assumed that just like Coachella, they’d stay in one destination spot where thousands of people from all over would experience a two day festivity in our city, but instead we got second best. I guess we can’t have it all. I went ahead and RSVPed myself, three of my friends and started sending the private flyer to others that might want to join in on the fun. The event was being held deep in the Malibu mountains, which seemed like a perfect location for a large crowd if they wanted to switch it up a bit. So, I was pretty excited to be near the beach during a holiday season that I haven’t celebrated in a few years.

Budweiser is a huge American name  brand for beer, although the weiser says a little different, but when you understand its history, hey we’ll take it! Anyone who doesn’t know the name Budweiser has been living under a rock. It’s not the most popular beer of all time, but it’s highly respected and it’s definitely a step-up from Bud light which has been described as piss beer amongst many drunks. Point is, it’s cheap, it gets the job done and it throws the best parties of the summer.

A collaboration between a great American made beer, Budweiser, and one of the most influential American born rappers, Jay Z, is a no brainer. It’s like another Disney world in the making. The two have been teaming up in order to find marketing strategies and ad developments that reach out to the millennials of our time. His mind works in such an astonishing way that it would only make sense to counter business projects with a business mogul, as I find him far more humble than his rapping competitors, hence Kanye, which would be a train wreck catastrophe in the making; but as an added bonus, his entire empire would join the mix in creating a dominating effect.

“Collaborating with JAY-Z on marketing our Budweiser Select brand presents an opportunity to work with one of the world’s great entrepreneurs and draws upon his expertise with pop culture, music and business,” said Marlene Coulis, vice president of Brand Management, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. “His approach to reaching people in creative, groundbreaking ways that transcend cultural boundaries makes this alliance particularly exciting.”

During the sponsored event, Budweiser sprinkled their brand name all throughout the fields of this private music festival screening paired up with some of the most juiciest burgers in town. Babys Badass Burgers .  Our group arrived far later than most guest who were decked out in Budweiser gear, but that didn’t stop anyone from celebrating the Budweiser way.

Burger trucks and beer booths were set up next to each other where guest were able to eat and drink at a responsible rate based on the wristbands that were handed out upon arrival. One burger and three beers. Well that’s lousy, what if I’m still hungry, do I just snatch someone else’s burger out of their hand in exchange for a beer ticket I’m not even going to use? But if you were amongst the the VIP guest at the party, then the beers were unlimited.

The amount of space on this private location was so massively wide, that I was surprised there weren’t more people to make up for all the room not being taken. The event quickly sold out in only a few hours preventing access to even trying to get confirmation. Definitely not what I would’ve imagined for something this highly promoted.

The main event, which was a previewing for the concert that was being filmed live in Philadelphia, was where all the guest camped out. A huge screen monitor showing the live performances of all the celebrity artist allowed guest to feel as if they were on the East coast experiencing it first hand. A 4D appearance was also being shown in a  lake near by with a water show effect. The purpose of the vip area versus the average, really didn’t make much of a huge difference other than feeling important and far more inebriated than those who were limited to bottles of beer. I on the other hand would’ve appreciated at least having a bottle of water other than beer being my only option of consumption.

The festival felt live, as if we were truly there. It also helped that the affect that Beyonces performances had on the crowd aroused everyone’s dancing abilities. There was not one beat missed once she got on that invisible stage and tore that ishup. We all, or at least some of us, became her undiscovered back-up dancers.

The power behind her moves, voice, lyrics and realm showed the essence of her following and the throne she continues to sits on in our generation. She sang every song that has been on the billboard hit list even if past group members weren’t present. Shade. Grown Woman, Partiton, Survivor were some of the few out of many she brought to the center stage. Either way, each time a song started the crowd was so filled with energy that it didn’t matter which song was ones favorite.

I didn’t get a chance to catch some of the other performances considering we showed up a little bit later, but Beyonce was the golden ticket and that’s really all we needed while every other performer acted as background audio. Hail Queen Bee!

Don’t mind the idiot in the back even though we laughed about it later.

Spending time with my friends that night just seemed like another blissful moment captured on any memorable Budweiser commercial. I was so happy to have the ones I love and adore to experience a night full of music, drinks and dancing. Capturing it was ultimately better though.

Although those lucky sons of ***** on the East coast got to experience everything first hand, one thing I can say is that at least there was more room to dance and feel lively while enjoying our time at a private estate. I can truly appreciate Budweiser for still keeping the home of Los Angeles involved in the Made In America two day tour. Not everyone can say that they got to experience a concert in 4D several states away from where it actually takes place. I guess you can say that we’re just spoiled like that.
